Soccer Corner Betting Tip

Soccer Corner Betting Tip

Betting on corners is one of the more interesting bets to make
if you plan on watching a live game.

Typically the bet is a bet on whether a certain amount of corners
will or will not be exceeded.

Every attack by either side can have you hoping for or fearing
that it results in a corner.

As ever with betting however one should not make a bet because of any buzz factor. Read the rest of this entry

SD3 Stranraer WIN@6/4 (vs. Arbroath) – 2pt win bet ( William Hill )

Stranraer vs. Arbroath

Stranraer have really got their act together and have had a great start to the season. A good 2-2 draw at Berwick last week outlines their quality at present. Arbroath, relegated last term have been having mixed results. Good at home but woeful away, hammered 4-1 by Berwick only two weeks ago. William Hill have clearly priced this up on the basis of a relegated 2nd division team must be stronger than a mid-table 3rd division team, but confidence means a lot in these lower leagues. A look along the odds-line will tell you this is way out. Bag the 6/4 before they change it.

Scottish Division Two
Livingston WIN @Evs (vs. Peterhead) – 1pt win bet (Bet365, Blue Square, Coral, William Hill)

Peterhead vs. Livingston

Livingston are the division’s favourites and they’ve done nothing wrong this season beating most
of the better sides in the division and only a last minute penalty stopping them from winning
all their games.
They face Peterhead, one of the weaker teams and it’s arguable they should be shorter than
the Evens available. Back them to win at Evens before the price goes.

Welcome back to the weekly Scottish Selections email after the summer break. I’m always a little cagey at the start of a new season. In the scottish lower leagues there’s a lot of movement of players and tons of loan signings. I know a few of the people that run the clubs in the 2nd and 3rd divisions so I talk to them but results can be eratic in the first few games. My systems are heavy on statistics too and it takes a few weeks before I have enough data to be confident. For the first few weeks it’ll be question of 1star bets going on what my spies report but when the stats bed in, it’ll be full steam ahead and I’m very confident of another highly profitable campaign. I’ve been betting on the Scottish lower leagues since 2002 and every season’s been a winner!

This week:

SD1 Ross County WIN @ 6/4 (vs. Falkirk) – 1 star bet (Bet365, Paddy Power)

Ross County vs. Falkirk

Last season’s cup run showed Ross County to be a team going places and a good start to the new campaign last week thumping new boys Cowdenbeath 2-0. They’ll be a team to follow this season, they have an excellent management team and I expect them to be challenging for the title come the end of the season. They take on Falkirk who continued miserable SPL form by losing to Dumbarton at home last week and look out of sorts still coming to terms with SD1. It’s often the case that it takes a while for the SPL relegation team to settle and Ross County can take advantage of this at 6/4.

Tammboy is an ex bookmaker odds compiler who has now turned his hand to winning cash

for his clients.

So far this season his strike rate is over 50% and perhpas even more impressive is a return on investment in the 40% region !!

This is just one of several bets he has today.

SPL – Kilmarnock WIN @ Evs (vs. St Mirren) – 3 Star Bet ( Bet365, Ladbrokes, PaddyPower )

Kilmarnock vs. St Mirren

Kilmarnock are in good form having won their last 4 games on the trot. They’ve been strong at home managing to beat Celtic too. St Mirren haven’t been quite as impressive having not won any in their last 6, their away form in woeful too so this rates as a good bet at Evens for Kilmarnock to win.

Stranraer WIN  (vs. Elgin City) – 1 star bet.

@13/8 Ladbrokes or slightly better 7/5 Bet365

Elgin City vs. Stranraer  Scot Div 3

Elgin city have been great away but not so good at home, they’ve had their confidence shaken in recent games by loses to Forfar and Livingston. To compound that, they’ve also got a bit of a bug running through the team. While Stranraer are no world beaters, they’re a team capable of winning this and 13/8 represents decent value.

1pt Peterborough to beat Blackpool in the Championship, 11/4 Skybet (Saturday 26th September 3.00pm KO)

Blackpool have got off to a flying start to this season and are sitting comfortably in seventh place. However, I feel this is definitely a false position and Peterborough are value as a result. The Tangerines have had a fair bit of luck over the last few weeks and Ian Holloway was almost embarrassed in the post match interview last week, freely admitting that his side had utterly mugged Nottingham Forest who completely dominated from start to finish. Peterborough got off to a slow start but are beginning to find their feet at this level and are growing in confidence. They are now unbeaten in six games in all competitions. Recent results have been very encouraging with their mid week Carling cup victory over Newcastle following a good win over Reading at the weekend. Before that they picked up two good points on the road away at QPR and Leicester. Peterborough’s attacking trident of McLean, Boyd and Mackail-Smith are a real threat and they have to be worth a small interest at a very big price.

TEAM NEWS Roman Pavlyuchenko and Jermaine Jenas are both struggling with injuries and are rated doubtful.   Jermaine Defoe is back in training and could be involved for Tottenham.   Obafemi Martins, Steven Taylor Jose Enrique and Peter Lovenkrands are all doubts for Newcastle.   Joey Barton remains on the sidelines but Mark Viduka is back in the squad.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR Squad: Gomes, Corluka, King, Woodgate, Assou-Ekotto, Huddlestone, Lennon, Jenas, Bent, Modric, Keane, Palacios, Pavlyuchenko, Cudicini, Bale, Zokora, Bentley, Dawson, Chimbonda, O’Hara, Hutton, Campbell.

NEWCASTLE UNITED Squad:Harper, Forster, Krul, Beye, Bassong, Coloccini, S. Taylor, Edgar, Cacapa, Butt, Duff, R. Taylor, Gutierrez, Nolan, Guthrie, Lovenkrands, Geremi, Smith, Martins, Owen, Viduka, Carroll, Xisco, Ranger.

Roman Pavlyuchenko 5 Shola Ameobi 4
Jermaine Jenas 3 Damien Duff 3
Robbie Keane 3 Steven Taylor 3

ANALYSIS MATCH:   Tottenham are the form team coming into this one with five wins out of seven in the league. They were on course for six out of seven at Blackburn two weeks ago before a poor refereeing decision reduced them to ten men and they conceded two late goals. Tottenham’s form under Harry Redknapp has improved dramatically and they are now on course for a UEFA cup spot.   Newcastle are seven games without a win and have won once in sixteen. They are running out of games and have to start winning soon if they are to have any chance of staying up. Alan Shearer will be targeting three points from this one as a draw simply isn’t good enough at this stage of the season. Newcastle actually have a very good recent record against Tottenham, winning the last six in a row. However, those victories came under different managers and with better players. This current Newcastle side has one just three of their last twenty away games and I’ll be very surprised if they make it seven in a row on Sunday.   Newcastle have drawn twelve of their thirty two games this season which is more than any other Premiership side. At 3.9 on Betfair, the draw is possibly the value call in this market. However, with the carrot of European football in front of them and a near fully fit squad, I think Spurs will probably take all three points.

GOALS:   There is a strong history of high scoring games in this fixture with the last seven in a row featuring three or more and averaging 3.6 goals per game. Newcastle have one of the highest goals per game averages in the division at 2.8 goals per game and have kept just one clean sheet in their last fifteen. It is no coincidence that Shay Given left the club in January. Tottenham on the other hand have only averaged 2.3 goals per game and White Hart Lane has seen fewer goals than any other Premiership ground this season. I think this is partially down to Tottenham struggling in front of goal earlier this season and now that everyone is fit they look to have plenty of goals in the team.   There has never been a goal less draw between these two sides in the history of the Premiership. Newcastle have also scored more goals against Spurs than any other Premiership club. I think this could be an open game with both teams going for the win and consequently, I think evens about over 2.5 goals looks a bit of value here.

GOALSCORERS:   Robbie Keane is Tottenham’s main goal threat but at 13/8 doesn’t offer particular value. Newcastle’s Michael Owen does appear to be a shade of value at 11/4 to score anytime with PaddyPower. Owen has missed a large part of the season through injury but has fantastic goals to game ratio when he does play. He has had a few games to build up match fitness now and I expect to see his name on the score sheet sooner rather than later.

RECOMMENDATIONS 1pt over 2.5 Goals evens Ladbrokes or 2.04 Betfair

Best Wishes
