Betting Guru

I got some great positive  feedback from Guy’s last tip for the Cheltenham Gold Cup

“brilliant race analysis”  &  “really took the race apart”  etc

I still like that tip as a good example of opposing the media hype which was all about Kauto versus Long Run.

If  you missed it have a look here Cheltenham Gold Cup Tip

Anyhow a shorter priced one today from him.

* None had under 13 career starts as he does
* AXIOM – No seasonal debutants won aged 7 or older
* TITAN TRIUMPH won a 7f handicap last time

* REVE DE NUIT – Just falls short and looks badly handicapped
* FINAL DRIVE -Doesnt look well treated at the moment
* I think he may need another run this year
* KINGSCROFT is an exposed 4 year old
* Similar types from 8f handicaps were 0-4
* Career high mark and unsafe profile but respected
* GEORGE GURU – Unorthodox as lightly raced 5yo

Horse Racing Tip For Newbury

NEWBURY 3.25 – THEATRE DANCE 6/1 Each Way

THEATRE DANCE is a horse that might unsettle
us especially if he has to be pushed a bit early but I
have negatives in the race. He is from a stable that
are on fire. He’s well handicapped and must now be
fit for the 1st time this season and I like his chance.

NEWBURY 3.25

7/2 Ogee, 5/1 Rey Nacarado, 6/1 Maktu, 8/1 Briery Fox
8/1 Scots Dragoon 8/1 Theatre Dance, 10/1 Double Dizzy
12/1 Noble Crusader , 20/1 Burren Legend.

* No Preview just the profiles I did not like
* The following are all Negatives with Poor Profiles

NOBLE CRUSADER – Wrong coming from 20f or less
MAKTU – Too much weight with a step up in trip
OGEE – Not convinced with 2 runs this year
BRIERY FOX – Too old for 1-2-3 runs this year
BURREN LEGEND – Didnt do enough last time
SCOTS DRAGOON – Exposed from Novice Chase no thanks

SELECTION – THEATRE DANCE each way is my choice

Football Tip From Ex Bookmaker

Football Tip From Ex Bookmaker

Phil spent many years working for a bookmaker called PageBet

He turned down several offers of work there as an odds compiler in order to focus on his own personal betting.

He now also earns a bit extra helping members over at the Football Bets site win cash from the bookmakers.

His long term record there is pretty impressive.

NEWMARKET 3.00

Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes
(Group 1) (Fillies & Mares) (CLASS 1)(3yo+) 1m

4/1 Music Show, 4/1 Sahpresa, 11/2 Seta, 11/2 Strawberrydaiquiri 6/1 Spacious,
7/1 Rainfall, 14/1 Aviate, 33/1 Alsace Lorraine 33/1 Hen Night, 33/1 Sent From Heaven, 40/1 Lahaleeb.

The Sun Chariot Stakes has 10 past renewals as a Group 2
or Group 1 race. In these races horses beaten more than 4
lengths last time out were 0-30 in this race.
All winners of this race were either 3 or 4 year olds.
SAHPRESA has that against her. If you look at horses with only 1-2-3 runs this season you found 2 winners.
None were aged 4 or more and None had 9 or more career starts and SAHPRESA fails both those angles.
Horses like SPACIOUS with 13 or more starts struggled.
Only 1 past winner had that many runs and that was only a 3 year old.
STRAWBERRYDAIQUIRI has been absent a while and I can’t match her.
AVIATE drops from a 10f race and needed to have won last time to have been like any past winner.
I would shortlist 3 horses in this. It’s hard to ignore MUSIC SHOW or SETA and both look like big runners.
That said 3 year olds like MUSIC SHOW and SETA coming from an 8f race only had a 1-25 record
and that winner was less exposed than MUSIC SHOW and was lighter raced than both.
I prefer RAINFALL from these 3.

* Horses aged 3
* Coming from a 7f race
* Form in Group 1 of Group 2 races
* 4 or more runs that season
* There were 3 horses with that profile in this race
* All 3 horses won in 2000 2006 and 2007
* RAINFALL has that profile
* Admittedly none 7 runs that season they all had 4-5-6 runs
* None tried though with 7 runs though and I’m overlooking that
* RAINFALL each way is my bet

I think she has been underestimate in a nicely frame race
and horses with very similar profiles were W W W in the
race so I see her as a very interesting runner.
She has one or two lengths to find with a couple of these but
that’s not impossible especially on this ground and I think
she has a serious chance of beating these from the best age group.

2PTS Crystal Palace to beat Newcastle in the Championship

21/10 PaddyPower or 2/1 Coral, BoyleSports and Bet365

(Saturday 22nd August, 3.00pm KO)

After a summer of turmoil, Newcastle have surprised many people by making a positive start to the season. The Geordies have picked up seven points from their opening three fixtures in an unbeaten start. However, the off the field circus shows no signs of leaving town and it can only be a matter of time before results on the pitch begin to suffer. The exodus of “star” players continues as Damien Duff this week followed Michael Owen, Mark Viduka, Obafemi Martins, Sebastien Bassong and Habib Beye out of St James’ Park. Steven Taylor is supposedly in talks with Everton at the time or writing and he too looks to have played his last game for the club. It must be extremely difficult for caretaker boss Chris Hughton to keep morale up as the uncertainty and exodus continues, with only two weeks left to bring in any replacements. Whilst Newcastle are likely to carry on picking up points at home, I think they will carry on from last season where they struggled badly on the road, winning just two away games. Every supporter of a Championship club will have their club’s home fixture against Newcastle in the diary and they will be seen as a major scalp.

Crystal Palace should be the proud owners of an unbeaten record so far this season but I’m sure you are all aware of what went on last weekend at Ashton Gate. For those of you who may have been away, Palace basically scored the opening goal yet the referee somehow decided it had gone wide and ruled it out. To add insult to injury, Bristol City then grabbed a last minute winner to leave colourful Eagles boss Neil Warnock foaming at the mouth. However, Palace bounced back mid week with an impressive win at Ipswich and are well capable of following that up with another victory over Newcastle. Neil Warnock has several of the most promising youngsters in the Championship in his squad and names such as Nathanial Clyne, Lee Hills, Victor Moses and Sean Scannell are likely to become familiar to fans of Premiership clubs before too long. They also have England U21 forward Freddie Sears on a season long loan from West Ham. Warnock seems to have put together a decent blend of youth and experience and Julian Speroni, Clint Hill, Darren Ambrose, Shaun Derry and Alan Lee have all been around the block and will offer guidance to the club’s youngsters. I don’t think there will be too many opportunities to back Palace at 2/1+ at home this season and they have a far better chance than the odds suggest in my opinion.

1pt Exeter to beat Chester in League Two, 23/20 William Hill and Boylesports or 11/10 widely available (Saturday 21st February 3pm ko)

Chester City are currently a club in turmoil. Financial difficulties saw six first team players depart in January and a transfer embargo put in place. Since beating Accrington on boxing day they have gone ten games without a win, plummeting down the table. They have lost their last six games on the bounce, scoring just once in the process. They have had to field several teenagers in recent weeks and two more will have to be drafted in tomorrow to replace the suspended Paul Linwood and Jay Harris. Linwood picked up his fifth booking of the season in Tuesday’s defeat at Shrewsbury whilst Harris was sent off in the same game, leaving boss Mark Wright down to the bare bones:

“Come training on Thursday when all the kids are at college, we’ll only have six or seven out there because the others are nursing injuries”.

“We know we need four or five players. I’m not saying that in an effort to put pressure on the club or the chairman. It’s a reality”.

“Life’s tough at the moment and Exeter will be a hard game and it depends on what bodies we have available”.

Exeter are a side well placed to take advantage. The Grecians are enjoying a fantastic season and currently sit in seventh place just six points off the top. They have won three of their last four scoring eleven goals in the process. Exeter beat a far stronger Chester side at home back in November and should really be odds on to complete the double.

Minimum price to take – 10/11
